The Yale Healthcare Conference is a joint effort between the Yale School of Management and the Health Professional Schools at Yale University. It brings together professionals, academics, and students to engage in an informative conversation concerning existing healthcare issues. This will be the 9th consecutive year of the event, and we expect the conference to continue growing to over 450 participants.

The title and theme of the 2013 conference is Partnerships in Healthcare: Cultivating Collaborative Solutions. We chose this year’s theme in order to reflect on the increasingly apparent need for the various sectors within the healthcare system to come together and create a cooperative environment in which ideas can become tangible solutions. The challenges confronting us include how to absorb increasing numbers of insured patients, contain rising medical care costs, improve quality of care, and adapt to new legislative regulations. We believe that a combined approach is the best way to address these challenges. This conference seeks to assemble key stakeholders from across various domains in healthcare who will share perspectives, ideas, and solutions while embodying the spirit of this year’s conference. Specific attention will be placed on ideas that are integrative, and that foster lasting productive partnerships.

This years keynote speakers are Dr. Troyen Brennan, EVP & CMO of CVS Caremark; and Dr. Carolyn Clancy, Director of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ).

Dr. Robert Galvin, Chief Executive Officer of Equity Healthcare, The Blackstone Group, will moderate the extremely popular executive panel.

The John D. Thompson Fellow Award will be presented before the executive panel.
